1. What is our Privacy Policy? Comfy Cat Furniture does not share any information about our customers with any other businesses or agencies, except as is needed to ship purchases to buyers. You, our customer, decide whether you wish to send testimonials and photos to be shared on our website, and you do not need to send any personal info should you choose to participate. If you join our mailing list, ONLY WE will have access to your contact information.

2. What warranties do we offer you on our cat trees and cat supplies? We offer you our pledge to do all in our power to make you happy with your transactions with us. Though our suppliers stand behind their products very well, we will make every effort ourselves to see that you are pleased with your cat tree, or any other item you may purchase, and with our service. You may want to read our questions and answers pertaining to our main products as well as our information on returns and cancellations.

3. What security do we offer you on our site? Comfy Cat Furniture is a SSL Secure site. All ordering steps are extremely secure and “locked”. Your personal payment info is seen only by the credit card merchant mechanisms or by PayPal. Your actual orders will be seen only by us and shared only with the shippers. Again, we do not share any info collected with anyone else!

4. How and where do we ship?
Where–We presently, with few exceptions, provide FREE SHIPPING and HANDLING of our cat trees and cat supplies to the lower 48 US states only. We do not ship to PO boxes. We DO ship to APO's that allow it, either Parcel Post or Priority, which will incur more cost to you but insure that the parcel is put on a plane rather than a slow ship. Please see website at http://www.oconus.com/zipcodes.asp to see if your APO allows packages of our size or if it has special restrictions. Our main manufacturer will ship 1st class Parcel Post to Alaska and Hawaii which will cost you more. E-mail us for a quote. Also, Canadian Buyers & other International Buyers who are interested in our products should e-mail us for quotes, with the understanding that we will pre-qualify their choice of payment and will not accept returns.
How–All of our cat trees are shipped by ground, usually with FedEx, though UPS may be used for certain items. USPS is used for APO's, Alaska, and Hawaii.
Cost-Presently, with few exceptions, all shipping and handling is FREE on all of our cat trees and cat supplies to the lower 48 States. For those of you in Alaska and Hawaii, or who are international buyers we ask you to e-mail us for shipping quotes. We strive to keep the shipping costs as low as possible for those of you outside the lower 48 States on those items where you DO pay for EXTRA shipping charges, while guaranteeing you safe delivery that is always Insured and Trackable. The cost will be determined by the weight/size of the items ordered as well as the customer’s distance from the shipping origin. Attempts are made by our companies to package the furniture to insure the lowest shipping prices available.
When–Both companies usually ship your cat trees or cat supplies within 3 to 4 days of order placement and payment. Special Custom Orders may take up to 7 to 10 days to ship.
PLEASE DO NOT ACCEPT PACKAGES THAT APPEAR TO BE EXCESSIVELY DAMAGED–contact us immediately by e-mail at CustomerSupport@ComfyCatFurniture.com should you refuse your package so that we may alert the shipper.

5. Do we accept returns? Of course we do on unused, unassembled products, though not on special custom orders or for frivolous reasons such as, "Don't like the color". Our cat trees with "PC" sku numbers are covered by a good warranty--see questions pertaining to main cat trees, cat condos, cat scratching posts only. The products that we carry from Essential Pet Products are also honored by them as well as by us. You just need to contact us first by one of the methods listed below and we will e-mail you the necessary instructions for returning or exchanging. You will be liable for the return charges and, if you are simply returning rather than exchanging, the first shipping fee will be subtracted from your refund. Do not send them to the return address from your parcel, please.

6. Do we accept cancellations? Certainly. We believe that everybody has the right to change their minds whenever they choose. If orders are cancelled within the first 24 hours after being placed, then all funds will be returned by us, but you must reach one of us, not our voice mail, by phone so that we can initiate the refund within that time frame so that no Credit Card charges are incurred. After the 24 hr. period, we must charge a 10% fee to recover the credit card fees automatically imposed on us for transactions and refunds.

If cancellation is not made until after shipping has occurred, then you’ll have to absorb the cost of shipping both ways and any restocking fee invoked by supplier, as well as any fees already charged to us by credit card companies and processors. When your account shows the credit of your returned funds will depend on their (your CC co. or Paypal) posting policies.

7. What methods of payment do we accept? All major credit cards may be used as well as PayPal if you prefer. You do not need to have a PayPal account to use it for payment. Simply choose your preference when checking out. We do not accept personal checks, money orders or cashiers checks sent by mail, as we are an internet business designed to offer you shopping without the need to visit a storefront or a post office.

8. What can you expect from placing an order to receipt of product?
1. Choose item(s) you want and send to cart.
2. When finished choosing, select check out and you will be taken to a secure order/payment page to complete your purchase.
3. Choose your method of payment and complete the order. If using PayPal, you must click back over to our site to complete the transaction and receive your e-mailed receipt.
4. Print or save confirmation for your records/safety.
5. Once order is placed, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from us stating that your order was received and is being processed.
6. Once item has been shipped, you will receive another e-mail confirming that it has been shipped and supplying you with tracking information for your package.
7. When package arrives, please check parcel for any unusual damage before accepting it.

10. Do we want testimonials and how will we display them? YES, we love to hear from our customers with feedback concerning their/their cats’ experiences with our cat trees, cat condos, cat scratching posts, cat toys, etc. We have a feedback page just for this. We will not post any personal information with our feedback, but we will definitely post quality photos of your cat using our cat trees. You will automatically be included in that month’s Cat of the Month Contest, if you send us a photo with your feedback, unless you request that we not enter you.

11. What is our Cat of the Month Contest? Each month we receive submissions of cat photos from all who wish to enter–you need not be a buying customer to participate. Winners will have their photo placed for view in our place of honor for a full month and will also receive a free catnip toy for their kitty.

First time submitters will be e-mailed a 5% off coupon to be used for any future purchase from our website as a Thank You for entering. You may submit each month, if you choose, including your photo each time with a few lines about your cat–we will not be able to keep old photos (lack of adequate storage) in file. Answers to questions pertaining to main cat trees, cat condos, cat scratching posts only-those with PC SKU’s:

1. How do I select the right cat tree for my cat? The right cat tree for your kitty depends on its personality and lifestyle. Your are the best judge of your cat’s habits. If your cat likes to sleep in small places, choose a cat tree with enclosures like a Playbox, Tunnel or Dreamhouse. See Add Ons page for examples. If your cat does not care for cozy places, chose a cat tree with perches, hammocks or open sleepers. If your cat likes to scratch on your furniture, choose a model with multiple posts covered with sisal rope. If you have more than one cat, choose models with room up high for several cats at the same time.

2. Which cat tree is best if I have more than 1 cat? Our most popular multi-cat tree is the Mont Blanc which provides various perches for several cats; so, check to see that the item you choose has similar properties.

3. Can I change one part of a cat tree for a different component? Yes, you can, very easily; this is one of the advantages of our Modular Building Kit System. You just need to make sure the new component can be safely installed without negatively impacting the stability of the cat tree as a whole–we recommend placing the heavier components near the bottom for this purpose and/or choosing a large baseplate.

You can request changes on existing models–for instance, we can replace a square box with a round box or with a completely different item. See Add Ons page for ideas, and e-mail us with your specific request. Most simple changes will not incur extra charges, unless the new element is more costly or much heavier, but we will let you know if they do before we process your order so you may approve or not.

4. Can my older cat climb these cat trees? A model like the Magic Kingdom makes it very easy for an older cat to climb safely to the top and back to the floor. No step is higher than 12" from level to level. Every line of furniture in our main products is cat friendly.

5. Can a declawed cat climb a cat tree? Declawed cats have no problem climbing to the top of any of our cat trees.

6. What colors of cat trees do you have? We are so happy you asked, as we are excited about your choices. You will find a link to view our color swatches on each of our product pages and there are drop-down menus of the solid colors offered and possible Two Color choices on the product pages also. There is also a color chart on the bottom of our Add Ons page, for our main products which have SKU’s starting with PC. Each product page will state if that product is offered in solid colors only or Two Color as well. You will see offered the most commonly requested two color combinations, but the great thing for our customers is that you may create your own Two Color combinations from any of our solid color offerings!

You may even decide to have several colors in the item you choose--just enter your wishes in the box provided on the checkout page after checking one of the Two Color choices to initiate the extra $30 charge for special orders. There is NO extra charge for alternating solid colored elements; you just need to give us your instructions/choices on the checkout page. Special requests will simply take a few more days to ship--up to 10 days; so, let your imagination run wild and satisfy your tastes completely.

7. How long from when I place my order do you ship the cat tree? Our manufacturer has become so "in demand" that you can expect non-custom cat trees to ship in 3 to 4 days while custom orders will usually take 7 to 10 days.

8. We are not very handy. Are the cat trees difficult to put together? The system we use for assembly is very simple and requires only one tool, which is included in each set. All posts are color coded and even the largest units will not take longer than 30 to 60 minutes to assemble, if directions are carefully followed.

9. I own a 24 lb. Maine Coon cat. Are the platforms sturdy enough and the openings big enough for my cat? All our cat trees are built to accommodate even the heaviest cat. You can also upgrade to large sleeper frames and hammocks at no extra charge upon check out. For bigger cats or large cat breeds we suggest a large base or a ceiling stabilizer(comes with all floor to ceiling models) for maximum stability.

10. How sturdy are your cat trees? Our units are VERY well constructed and will not wobble or tip over under normal conditions. Just look at the weights of our products compared to most other cat furniture offered on the internet! Cats will usually not play or sleep on cat trees that do not feel solid or secure to them. Click on the About Our Products tab in the navigation bar for detailed information.

11. What if our ceiling is not 8' standard for floor to ceiling units? We can make any of the floor to ceiling models up to 12' tall, and we can also make them as low as 7', if your ceiling is less than 8'. Please fill in ceiling height in the appropriate box on the checkout page also noting if your ceiling is slanted. There will be extra charges incurred if your ceiling height requires extra sisal posts.

12. What if our ceiling is not flat(Cathedral type ceiling)? We offer a ceiling hinge for non-flat ceilings which you choose upon checkout and which will adjust to any angle. This hinge is fastened to the ceiling with whatever fastener is correct for your ceiling type--you provide this by determining what type of ceiling you have and purchasing the simple fastener prior to the unit's arrival.

13. I’ve been told that some sisal rope is better than others. Is this true? Sisal rope is a wonderful scratching surface for cats because it is natural and extremely durable. It is a natural fiber and comes in many different sizes, colors and twists. A high torque applied, pre-dried 1/4" rope is by far the best choice for your cat. You also do not want oiled or bleached rope for your posts–stick to a natural, untreated product. Our sisal is applied by a special high torque method with non toxic glue, and the posts are covered by a 2 year manufacturer's replacement warranty!

14. How do I clean the cat tree? You can machine wash and dry the Sleeper and Hammock covers(replacement covers are also available for these in all colors). The rest of the cat tree is cleaned using an upholstery spray(check label to make sure it is pet safe) or with a neutral soap and water. Vacuuming or roller tape can easily be used to collect hair from the units.

15. If my cat chews on any part of the cat tree, will he become sick? We do not use any toxic materials in the construction of our cat trees. This is one of the reasons we do not use carpet remnants which usually contain formaldehyde. The glue we use is also non-toxic.

16. How do I tell if a cat tree is quality-made and if it is tip-proof and cat -friendly? The weight of a unit is a good indication of its sturdiness. Our Mont Blanc, for instance , has a net weight of 104 lbs at a height of 6'. The Magic Kingdom has a net weight of 130 lbs at a height of 6'2". The size of a base does not necessarily mean that a unit is stable. A smaller, yet thicker and heavier base is more stable than a thin, larger base. The heaviest elements on our cat trees are being used towards the bottom of the cat tree and the lighter weight items are used on the higher elevations to increase stability.

17. There is cheaper cat furniture available. Why should I spend more to buy yours? You get what you pay for, and not all cat trees are created equal. If you find a cheaper cat tree for sale, it is most likely made of inferior material, poorly constructed or unsafe. If you find a post on which you can move the rope with your finger, you can only imagine what a cat will do to that post in a very short time! Sisal needs to be completely tight to make a scratch surface that will stand up to years of “abuse”. A great deal of thought, quality, design ingenuity and time has been devoted to designing the finest cat trees available. These cat-tested and cat-friendly designs are practical and safe for cats, from kittens through old age.
