What Comes Standard With Our Furniture

  • Sisal Posts-All of our cat furniture, (unless it is one of our few items without a sisal post, i.e.. window perches), comes with a Minimum of 1 and can have as many as 12 sisal posts. Ranging in size from 12" to 31", our sisal posts are made with a high quality, untreated, natural pre-dried sisal rope. Our posts, built with high quality heavy wood, are mechanically wrapped with a High-Torque, 1/4" sisal rope, and to ensure better adherence the rope is glued onto the column during this process. The glue used is NON-TOXIC to ensure your kitty cats health. We also provide a 2 year replacement warranty at no extra cost on our sisal posts.
  • Our Soft, Plush, Velour Covering-Our plush velour actually covers the ENTIRE piece of cat furniture and all of the elements, both inside and out. It has been kitty tested in many cat shelters, often housing over 150 cats at once, and kitty proven to be virtually indestructible. Also, our material has not been treated with any chemicals, unlike formaldehyde treated carpet often used in other cat furniture. There are no extra mats to buy at checkout to make your cat comfy, which you'll find is the case at many other stores.
  • Toys-Any piece of our furniture which shows a toy (and even a few which don't) has it included in the price. Some of our furniture may have one toy while others include more. You will not have to pay extra for the toys at checkout.
  • Shipping and Handling-Our cat furniture and supplies are shipped to you for FREE! No hidden charges or extra costs at checkout.
  • Hardware-All of the hardware used on our cat furniture is kitty safe--no nails, staples, or regular screws to work loose for your cat to injure himself on. We use Allen screws which lay completely flat once they have been screwed into the cat furniture. (See Picture) We also supply all of the Endless Screws and the Allen Wrench. You'll never have to make a trip to the hardware store, we promise!
  • Free Upgrades!-For you cat owners with large kitties you can upgrade the regular sleepers to our Oversize Sleepers at no extra charge. For older, less agile felines, you can add intermediate steps to the standard posts, also. For example, you can substitute a 20" post with two 9.5" posts and add a standard board, or large standard board for larger kitties, between the two so your older cat will be able to reach the top of the unit and safely return to the ground with a little more ease.
  • Wide Variety of Colors-Our cat furniture comes in a broad range of brilliant, plush colors. We also offer you the duo-tone option for a small upgrade fee. With our duo-tone option, you can have fun choosing two or more colors for your own unique piece of cat furniture which will soon become your kitty cat’s favorite.
  • Add Ons-With our Modular Building Kit System you have the options of starting off small and building onto your cat tree at a later date, designing your own cat tree from the ground up, replacing the covers for your hammocks and sleepers, or just giving your cat furniture a new look.

Often When Ordering From Other Companies:

  • Sisal Posts-You'll often find that when you start the checkout process there are suddenly all these different options to choose from–options which previously appeared to be included in the model you chose. Just to add one sisal post will cost you $20.00 or more at the time of checkout. Also, be sure to ask exactly how the sisal rope has been treated and applied to the sisal post. Please take a look at our pictures of sisal rope as a reference of what you do want and what you do not want when it comes to your cat scratching posts. It's very important if you do not want to have to replace your cat furniture every year or two.
  • Carpet Covering-First and we feel very strongly about this, carpet products are often treated with formaldehyde along with other chemicals which can make your kitty sick. These chemicals get released into the air and your kitty may chew or lick the carpet and ingest the chemicals! Second, your cat's claws easily get stuck in carpet. Cats are strong and carpet does not hold up well to the scratching and pulling of everyday abuse, and it can make quite a mess. Carpet is mostly stapled and glued down. Staples are not safe for your cat. They pull out easily leaving exposed, sharp objects that can injure your kitty, and, if the carpet is glued down, be sure to ask if the glue is non-toxic.
Also, you'll often find at checkout the option to add mats for the inside of the elements where your cat will be sleeping. These mats will come with the options to buy only one starting around $5.00 and can range up to three mats for around $16.00.
  • Toys-Here's another example of extra costs you may be surprised with at checkout. You suddenly realize the toys shown are not included in the price. You'll often find toys ranging in price from one for $3.00 up to ten for $26.00.
  • Shipping and Handling-Shipping and Handling is VERY expensive on heavy items like cat furniture, often from $45.00 to $120.00, depending on the size of container and its weight, especially if the cat furniture is shipped to you already fully assembled. For example, the shipping and handling on an 84" cat tree from CA to Utah will cost you around $50.00, or from CA to TN it will cost you close to $85.00, etc.. Also, watch for the “restocking” fee for returned products.
  • Hardware-Be sure to ask exactly what kind of hardware is used to hold any kind of cat furniture together. Nails, regular screws and staples are not safe for your kitty cats. Make sure any glue that is used is non-toxic. Also, be sure that any hardware that is necessary for your cat tree, including ceiling extensions, is included with the package and the price.

How To Choose Quality Cat Furniture

Quality cat furniture is an investment that will last for years, if not for a lifetime. There are several factors you need to consider before choosing the perfect cat tree, cat condo or cat scratching post for your favorite kitty.
  • Choose cat furniture which is sturdy and well constructed.

  • Choose a cat tree, cat scratching post which is stable and won't move when cats are scratching on it.

  • Make sure the cat furniture is well balanced and tip-proof for your kitties jumping and playing.

  • A cat tree that will provide adequate support for your cat's size and weight is very important.

  • A cat will not use a cat tree or sisal rope scratching post that is too short for him/her. The minimum height of cat tree you will need is one slightly higher than your cat is able to reach with its back and front legs fully extended.

  • If the cat tree is over 6' tall, provide a ceiling stabilizer for safety.

  • Choose a cat tree, cat condo which is easy to climb and descend from level to level.

  • Do not purchase cat furniture covered with carpet remnants. This type of cat furniture encourages your cat to use your floor carpets to sharpen his claws. Pile carpets also have loops in which a cat's claws may become tangled.

  • Last but not least, you want your cat furniture to be cat friendly for kitties of all sizes and ages.

Also, its very important to know the materials which are used to construct your purchase, as many of the lesser quality furniture, especially imports, use:
  • Toxic materials--glues and material dyes with toxins.
  • Inferior sisal rope which will not wear well or has not been applied securely.
  • Light weight substitues for real wood parts--like styrofoam covered by cheap veneers.
  • Staples, plain screws and nails which can work free and endanger your kitties.
  • Overall generally poor construction which cannot stand up to cats' normal behavior for any length of time.

All of the Above result in:
  • Cat furniture which is too light weight to enforce your cats' need to feel secure while playing or resting.
  • Products which, if used, will not stand the test of time, necessitating the need for frequent replacements and therefore more cost in the long run.
  • Possible harm to your beloved kitties.
